A Delhi-based band with a fusion of Sufi poetry and manta's with a blend of Turkish and Persian music amalgamated with acoustic guitars and folk instruments!
Rudraksh is fusion/Sufi band based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. Their music is deeply influenced by various forms of Sufi music from across the times with all forms of soulful music like Bhatiali, Baul and Persian. Indian classical and their folk music has always been in their blood and of course, rock, jazz and blues. In their lyrics, they use Hindi and Urdu both and also uses the poetry of Iqbal, Bismi and Sufi poets like Amir Khusrow, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, and Bulleh Shah. Their songs are more of lyric-based, so one can relate with their own life. For example, their song 'Mrigtrishna' talks about the vivid journey of life. The band deeply relates itself with Lord Shiva and his 'Rudraroop'. They started their journey on stage with a platform like Beyond Borders Festival 2005 at British Council where they shared stage with people from different parts of the world which was highly appreciated. That wasn't an end, since then, they have rocked numerous colleges of Delhi and became a real popular band in the North Campus of Delhi University. Apart from that, they have also done a road show with Pepsi on the launch of their Pepsi Cafe Chino drink and unplugged LIVE show at CCD and Barista across the city.
