Purgatory is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. The primary urge and angst for creating a heavy sound and uplifting the Kolkata metal scene held the band together even though they faced many major genre threats. The band creates heavy music and tries to revive the once lost classic death metal era with new twists and turns via heavy tones and riffs, with progressive elements as well. Performing in over 100 gigs and competitions in and around the nation and signing to well-known record labels, the band has earned quite a name. Currently, Purgatory is working on a feature film project thus creating the theme song and background music for the movie. Every time the band gets on stage, they get a packed up venue.
