Tansane, is a musical duo, composed of Sharan Punjabi and Raghu Vamshi. The two had been producing music together, and by themselves, since they began doing so, in 2"15, and Tansane o?cially began as a collaborative e?ort in the start of November, 2"15. The aim of Tansane is an inquiry, into the combination of characteristic spirits of musical cultures from di?erent eras. The name Tansane was chosen to pay homage to one of the greatest Indian musicians of antiquity, Mian Tansen, who was one of the nine gems of Empreror Akbar's court. Performance Styles: •? Tansane has an important role for technological advancements in their music production techniques and the resulting ability to work with sound and music to create something new and dynamic. Using these various techniques and influences, Tansane strives to create it's own signature sound through avant garde endeavors which showcase the various theories, and subtleties of musicians who have, and continue to pave the way for music to be an artistic reflection of human culture, and one of the few ethereal remnants of creativity in the sands of time.Tansane's music is inspired by innovative pioneers in their ?elds such as Chopin and Tchaikovsky in orchestral western classical to Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma in hindustani classical, to Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis and John Coltrane in jazz, to Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone in soul, to Chet Baker in blues, to Nicolas Jaar in electronic and Bonobo and The Cinematic Orchestra in trip-hop, to name a few among many giants, past and present.
