Zain Ali is from Lahore, Pakistan. He is a Tabla player and a singer who is mostly known for his qawali songs. He came in highlights after performing in Coke Studio 2022.Zain Ali is the grandson of the late Ustad Haji Rehmat who performed for 40 years with the legendary, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.Zain Alis late father, Zakir Naeem, apart from being a government employee, he was also into music for spiritual reasons. He didnt want Zain to pursue his career in music, however, once he watched Zains performance that changed his mind.Zain Ali in an interview said that after the demise of his father he kept himself away from music as he was shattered by his fathers death, however, after his mothers motivation he resumed back after a month.When Zain was four years, he started playing music on utensils. He joined tabla classes at the age of twelve.During childhood, Zain Ali and his younger brother, Zohaib Ali, would attend the qawali show with their grandfather.As per Zain Ali, once he played the tabla at his younger brother, Zohaib Alis, birthday party in front of several respected musicians of his grandfathers time.According to Zain Ali, his first music break was with his maternal uncle, who is also a singer, composer, and music director.Zain Ali and his brother, Zohaib Ali, are known for their qawali songs. They have a qawali group of ten members. Zain Ali with his group performed in many events where they received a lot of appreciation.Zain Ali in an interview expressed his desire to perform in India and also to meet the Indian artists.
