What the Funk is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad. It is one of the first bands from the city to start off as a dedicated funk band. Currently, the band is working on new original compositions. Band Members: Edla Emmanuel – Vocals, Keyboards From singing smooth classics to heavy grunge roars, Edla Emmanuel has been one of the very few certified rock and pop vocalists this city can showcase. Being a graduate in Vocals (Grade 8) from Trinity college of Music, London, he has got the experience as a teacher by working in many schools with international standards. With an amazing vocal range, this versatile vocalist has been the front man for many of the leading rock bands in the city. His techniques and style have been one of a kind that has set him apart to be a promising vocalist to deliver a power-packed performance. Solomon Raj – Drums Solomon is one of the most versatile drummers this city has got to offer. He has been playing in many bands and has been touring the country with the band he is currently playing for, Last Bridge. He is known for his improvisation and has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. With his amazing drumming skills and dynamics, he fills in his rolls sounding full and tight. Richard Madella – Bass With a unique technique slapping the four-string, Richard stands out as one of the best bass guitarists in the city. He has been playing with a lot of bands and has gained a lot of experience at a very young age. With his funky bass lines, he sets the groove that captivates you and takes you for a ride into a whole new level of funk. His unique technique of slapping the bass sets him a class apart, and his sense of harmony have made him a brilliant musician. He is the one who lays the foundation of the songs with his funk and groovy bass lines that give a whole new meaning and flavour to the song. Makka Amit – Guitars With his style and speed, he sets the stage on fire. From playing classics and shredding to finger picking and playing jazzy grooves, his versatility has been this strength to help him play for various bands in the city. Makka has worked with many artists and helped in the composition of a number of albums. He has always been praised for his technical work. His sense of sound showcases his brilliant work on his guitar patches making it sound full of life. Makka Amit is currently staying in New Zealand completing his studies. So he is with the band whenever he comes down to India. Ricky Raymond – Guitars As one of the youngest guitarist in the rock scene, Ricky has been playing with the top bands in the city.
