You wouldn’t associate a dancer with weight training. But for choreographer, Vitthal Patil, who has a string of dance titles under his belt including Nach Baliye-2 and Dance Premier League (with Harshal Kamat), has displayed his adroit moves in reality shows like Zara Nachke Dikha as well as on the big screen (Nach, Darna Zaroori Hai, Khoya Khoya Chand), these two activities are indispensable. In order to be a good dancer, you also need a strong body. He says, 'Dance is a terrific activity for building agility, flexibility, speed and stamina. But, when you have to do moves like lifting your partner up in the air, you jolly well have strong arms and shoulders, not to mention powerful legs or you may both get injured.' Plus, he adds, 'weight training offers such great aesthetics, cuts and muscle tone to your body. So overall your personality and stage presence is enhanced.'
