Saeed Zafar Khan is a professional sitarist based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. He was born to a family that belongs to the Indian classical music fraternity, and he was always surrounded by veterans like Ustad Chand Khan, Ustad Hilal Ahmed Khan, Ustad Usman Khan, Ustad Nasir Ahmed Khan, Ustad Bundukhan, Zahoor Ahmed Khan, and Ustad Zafar Ahmed Khan (his father). As a child, Saeed would only hear khayals and gats all day, which helped him make the base for the sense of melody and rhythm. His style blends tantrakari with flashes of the Delhi gharana gayaki. Tunefulness, rhythmic patterns, tonality and raagdari all go together to make Saeed Zafar Khan’s performances highly-appealing.
