Urmila Thakkar is a prolific young dancer who began her career with Shiamak Davar’s company and was one of the leading instructors with the firm for almost a decade. Having trained thousands of students in Bollywood, belly dance, contemporary, Indo-contemporary, Latin, hip-hop, jazz funk and many more styles, she was also one of the only eight instructors who trained participants for the ‘Commonwealth Games 2006’ closing ceremony in Melbourne, Australia. Urmila is also closely associated with the film and TV industry of Mumbai, having worked with the likes of Kangana Ranaut, Sunny Leone, Badshah, Nikhil Chinappa, Raftaar, and Dr Zeus to name a few, and as an independent choreographer in advertisements and music videos. She has also managed and performed in a number of stage shows of repute like IIFA, Zee Cine Awards, Filmfare Awards, Star Parivaar, etc. Besides this, she has also been an assistant choreographer on the hit reality TV show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Season 8.
