Toshimoa Jamir is a professional instrumentalist based out of Dimapur, Nagaland. With the belief that, music is the key to happiness and charms the mind, Toshimoa, a guitarist by profession says, life is empty without music. Toshimoa started playing the guitar at a very young age. Blessed to have parents who understood and nourished the interest and talents of their children, Toshimoa learned basics of playing the guitar from them. Soon, he started picking up guitar lessons from tutorial CDs and later played in several school and college functions. With the support of his family and his sheer hard work, he won the Best Guitarist title during the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANSCSU) Music Fest 2010. He also won the Best Guitarist in Sungku Tenem Open Beat Contest Clash of the Bands the same year. Satisfied by his success, Toshimoa’s parents extended complete support to his decision to become a full-time musician. Since then, there has been no turning back for this youthful lad. Putting forward all his efforts towards music, Toshimoa passed Grade Eight with merit in Guitar, International Rock Music Exam Board, London, in 2012, from Bangalore. He worked as a music teacher in ICFC School and De Sales Music Academy for two years in Bangalore. He also took part in national online Guitar Contest and was selected twice as a finalist of Furtado’s Ultimate Guitarist (2013) and Guitar Maestro Contest (2014). While performing LIVE concerts around the city and sharing the stage with various musicians, he also had a chance to perform along with several Indian classical musicians. In 2014, on releasing his band’s EP, Canvas of Silence, his LIVE conversation was broadcasted at Radio One, Bangalore Radio Station. Passion Play is his guitar-based solo instrumental album which consists of eight tracks. Released in 2015, the album was recorded at Temjen Jamir's studio, Jam Studio 11. Initially started as a hobby, most of his childhood days were spent playing the guitar with friends. Almost five years into composing music and licks, it inspired him to record an album. Each track has a different style of music from soft melodic music to metal, representing different phases of his life.
