Biography

Third Degree Originals is a group of professional rappers based out of Goa, India. The trio came together in 2005, as DJ Pinaki (Phenom) and Alistair (Koncept) started out as one of the pioneer hip-hop DJs at various clubs and private parties in and around Delhi, and later on, transitioned to the state of Goa where it is mostly dominated by electronic music. This duo started off at Club Cubana, as Resident DJs, and introduced hip-hop in Goa. It all came together when the third member of the group, Sean (Bonafide), a close friend of the duo, met them at an event and they decided to come together and form an independent English rap group.  In 2008, the group named itself as 'Third Degree Originals' aka 'TDO', and emerged from the battle of rappers to become professional recording artists as well as producers. Pinaki, the music producer for the group, has been producing all their music content since 2009, and came out with their first mixtape album entitled 'Hip-Hop Release, Stage -1', India's first underground mixtape. Their phenomenal music caught the attention of a UK-based music label, under whose banner they released their debut music album entitled 'Phase One'.  TDO has perfected the art of production, right from audio to video. Everything is handled by them with a superb lineup like Pinaki, who handles the audio engineering and music production, and Alistair, who heads the video production, which includes direction and post production. They also have their own clothing line labeled The Third Degree Apparel. The designing is done by Alistair and Sean.  Achievements: Opened for international rapper MIMS (USA) in Blue Frog (Mumbai) Featured in Time Out magazine and various newspaper articles and radio shows Four videos released and all have been featured on Vh1 Latest single 'Root of all evil' being aired on Vh1 and Planet Radio City Freedom Currently, TDO camp is working on their second album, Phase 2. There are three more videos in production, which will be out soon. Their music was featured in two movies, one for an Indian documentary entitled 'Little Big People' by Mr Khaled Mohamed and another is a British comedy, shot in the UK, entitled 'Krish and Lee'.
