My Compelling Story

Based in India, Vinay Kaushal is a guitar player, composer, and a music teacher. He started learning at a very tender age, and graduated from Musician's Institute, Hollywood – which is home to the esteemed institute, Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), Los Angeles. Vinay plays with versatility, focussing on genres like blues, funk, rock, fusion, and jazz. Apart from composing, Vinay is also into songwriting, and has an eye for detailing. Having performed at various venues like Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, BlueFROG, Hard Rock Café, Shisha Jazz Café, National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) (Mumbai), and NH7 festival, he has earned numerous accolades and strong recognition. The Sula and Weekender festivals have been among his notable performances in India, till date. “Getting up on stage gives me a high,” says Vinay. He has mastered his art by playing LIVE and in studios. He also produces music for Passing Thought, an Alternative-rock act, and has affiliations with Winit Tikoo, Taal Inc. – an African rhythm ensemble, Luke Kenny, Riligion, Jaagar, and many more. Vinay is also a keen music teacher; he regularly holds workshops at NCPA. He is also among the faculty of Furtados School of Music, and students love learning under his guidance. And when he takes a break from all this, Vinay likes to indulge in reading, and doing experiments with mixing and recording techniques, on Room Acoustics and Pro Tools.
