The Many Roots Ensemble is a LIVE band based out of Pune, Maharashtra. It is a collaborative effort to record and perform original compositions and fresh arrangements of songs and standards as the band likes. 'Many Roots' stands for the amalgamation of many influences, genres, and styles that create their music as everybody in the ensemble comes from different musical backgrounds. Every few months, the band intends on launching a new song with a studio recording and a video featuring accomplished artists. The ensemble performs with the core members and the featured artist. The band draws its influences from artists such as Ernest Ranglin', New York Gypsy All Stars, John Scofield, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Brad Mehldau, Screaming Headless Torsos, Anderson Paak, Simon & Garfunkel, Shakti, Gretchen Parlato, Avishai Cohen, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollings, Sixun, Nik Barstch's Ronin and many more. Since its formation, the band has released a track called What they Tellin' You. This track has received appreciation from the entire Indian independent music circuit in high numbers.
