Biography

The Buddha Therapy is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. The LIVE act came into existence in early 2011. Numerous visits to the rehearsal pad paid dividends in the band's first ever competition at IEM's annual fest; popular local metal band, Chronic Xorn, gave this act a fitting third place. Ever since then, the band has featured in two IIT prelim rounds. The band was selected for the final round of Armageddon and IIM Calcutta's annual fest, Carpe Diem, and was declared the runners-up. The band got its first gig at Euphonious, in late December, where it performed alongside names like Evil Conscience and other popular and rising bands such as Distorted Thought Pattern, Burnout Syndrome and The Paradigm Shift. Reverie 2012, IPGMER's college fest yielded the first band competition win for the band, after a significant lineup change. The band was declared as the second runners-up at Splurz 2012, Pailan Institute of Technology. The band opened for Pakistani rock band, Roxen, at Flamz 2012, the annual fest of Future Institute of Engineering and Management. The Buddha Therapy was also declared the runners-up at Eclecia 2012, the official annual fest of Heritage Institute of Technology, by the Pune-based prog metal band, Noiseware. With its fresh sound and catchy melodies, The Buddha Therapy promises to have much more in store for the Kolkata audience.
