Biography

Tenao HD is a professional instrumentalist based out of Imphal, Manipur. Born and brought up at Wangkhei Laishram Leikai, Imphal East (Manipur), he became a folk musician, composer, multi-instrumentalist, music director and virtuoso. He started his career in 2005 under Guru Nameirakpam Thambalngou Singh, a State awardee and Guru in JN Manipur Dance academy in Meitei Pung, and also performed in various traditional cultures till date. He learned various forms of traditional and modern music under Guru Nameirakpam Tiken Singh, Director PAL (Progressive Artiste Laboratory), Manipur and also worked under him on various projects. He is a scholarship holder in the field of folk music (folk/traditional and indigenous arts) given by the Government of India under Ministry of Culture, New Delhi in the year 2014. Not only a musician or performer, he also guides new upcoming artists in various fields of music instruments.
