Biography

Tanuj Mahashabde has done a diploma in Marine Communication from Indore. Later, he moved to Mumbai and started learning the basics of theatre in from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kala Kendra, Mumbai..He has done theatre for over 15 years.He had developed an interest in writing and has co-written a few scripts with other professional writers.Tanuj Mahashabde has appeared in many episodic shows in small roles including CID and Aahat.He got recognition for his role in Ye Duniya Hai Rangeen.Due to some family issues, he went back to his hometown and started working as an acting teacher in Indore.Later the director of Ye Duniya Hai Rangeen called Tanuj Mahashabde to come back and join his new show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Allegedly he was supposed to do writing for the series, but the lead actor of the show, Dilip Joshi suggested the director to take Tanuj as one of the characters i.e. Scientist Krishnan Iyer as there was no such character in the script before.He was awarded the Kala Gaurav Award in 2016.He was also nominated for the Forbes India celebrity list in 2014.Heres an interview of Tanuj Mahashabde in which he talked about his marriage and other things:.
