Biography

Swar is a premiere Hindi progressive band based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. The band was founded on 2012 by Mainak and Debojyoti. Previously, Mainak and Debojyoti were a part of another progressive rock band called Jeremiah. When things didn’t work out, they decided to form their own setup. Later, they came across Abhirup, a freelance vocalist, who proved to be a great singer, capable of heavy and soft genre delivery. Thus, he became a part of Swar. Then came Biswarup; as a friend of Abhirup, is an extreme metal guitarist and proved to be of experimental value in such kind of music where there is a hint of Indian melodic flavours and as well as western music.
