Summersalt is a LIVE band based out of the capital city of Meghalaya, Shillong. The band performs their songs in both English and Khasi language. Their songs attempt to raise questions on social issues. Their instruments are a mix of standard and some lesser-known home tools of the Khasi Community. They call their music Trans-Fusion. Summersalt is willing to travel to new places and explore the opportunities of musically-experimenting with their home tools. Salt is a concept; a preservative that adds taste. At a time where the culture of trust and values are diminishing, Summersalt believes that they will hopefully make a difference. The group has already embarked on a musical journey that allows them to experiment with new things. From the taste of folk and the pinch of rock to the elements of jazz and the energy of native music sitting on the laps of the Khasi Hills, Summersalt is known to have crisscrossed genres. Their music and appeal have attracted the likes of The New York Times, GQ Magazine, The Week Magazine, Deccan Herald, The Shillong Times, and The Caravan.
