Sumathi Sekhar is a professional singer and musician who is dedicated to her passion for music. Born and brought up in Bangalore, she has a firm conviction to spread joy and love through her singing. Her voice has that natural essence which imparts a very soothing feeling to the earbuds.
Her father was a Captain in the Indian Army. This made her travel and live the life of a nomad. She picked up languages of different regions in India and got a taste of the prevailing diverse culture. Humming from the age of 3, she was even trained in Carnatic Music. It was due to her father’s sudden demise that she took up the job of a corporate.
Heading the corporate sales team at BMW, she never expected to become a professional singer. Little did she knew, that destiny had a much more adventurous ride for her. Soon after quitting her corporate job she joined AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory and graduated in Western and Hindustani Vocals along with Russian Piano.
Her love for music has grown so much that she now teaches and gives lecture at the Pratibha’s E Music. Sumathi travels across the length and breadth of the country performing at musical events.
