Sonal Shah is a Sufi singer and a classical music vocalist. She has been performing since almost 3 decades and can sing in three languages - Hindi, Gujarati and Urdu. She has been bestowed with many awards and recognitions and is considered one of the best artists for singing ghazals. Hailing from a reputed Gujarati family, she has been singing from the age of 7 years. Sonal has been imparted training by leading classical maestros like - Late Mr. Khanderao Awade, Padma Shri Dr. Prabha Atre of Kirana Gharana and Late Dr. Anita Sen (Mumbai). She studied and completed her postgraduate studies in music from S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Mumbai. Sonal holds a gold medal for B.P.A in Vocal Music from M.S. University and has also been bestowed with the ‘Best Sadhak’ award by Rajya Sangeet Natak Academy. Her works and presentations have won her praises from across the boundaries of the country. Her contribution to uplift Sufi singing is really commendable. Sonal has performed at many prestigious concerts and functions in India and abroad. Having taken a disciplined training in Urdu, her fluency in the language is unquestionable. Her magnetic voice renders a beautiful aura around her performance which makes it a magical experience.
