Sudarshana trained in Rabindrasangeet and Indian Classical, earning a junior diploma in the former after 12 years of study and seven annual exams. She grew up, however, with a lot of music, ranging from Western classical to jazz and blues. After a very brief stint with studying opera, she finally found her passion for jazz. She continues to discover and explore different genres such as RnB, blues, soul and funk. Sudarshana has studied with Julie Hill and Mara Nesrallah, and has performed at venues across the city – from the polo grounds to piano man, and fashion shows to family/corporate events. Sudarshana also taught voice at Ashoka University for two semesters. As a session player, she enjoys collaborating with diverse musicians across the city.
