Suchismita Das is a professional singer from West Bengal, Kolkata. Suchismita started training in Hindustani classical music when she was just four years old. She trained under Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and went on to study as a scholar in Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. Suchismita has performed at various concerts and shared stage with some prominent singers like Trilok Gurtu, Hariharan, and Shankar Mahadevan. She caught A.R. Rahman's eye and with his recommendation she got the opportunity to sing for the composer Thomas Newman's song for the film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in 2011. She has also done anchoring for Zee Bangla's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. She got to perform at the Season 3 of MTV Coke Studio and quickly became popular.
