Biography

  Eastern India’s one of the most favourite and melodious band, Srote is a symphony of young and talented artists. Based out of Kolkata, the band believes in delivering music that is new, yet ancient and rich in feel. This sets them a class apart from others. Srote is the kind of musical troupe that inhales and exhales music. They conduct practice sessions and rehearsals till late in the nights. Srote comprises of five indigenous and bright musicians. Shamik is on the lead vocals and guitar, Darpo and Arnab on the lead and bass guitar, respectively. They also accompany Shamik as back vocalists. Udatta is on the percussions and Darpo is on the lead guitar. Music is considered a way to communicate with the divine. This is the core and heart of Srote’s music. Through their music, they want to invoke the subtle aspect in the minds of the people and make them feel the divinity in life. Srote has played at several campus events, cultural shows and private gigs. The energy at their performances is surreal and makes one feel ecstatic. They truly are a fair representation of music.
