Sooraj Santhosh, a trained Carnatic vocalist, is a Chennai-based playback singer who sings mainly in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages. He has also sung in Hindi, Kannada and Badaga.
His first song, Inka Etho, composed by GV Prakash for a Telugu thriller film, Darling, won him the Mirchi Music Awards South conducted by Radio Mirchi for the Best Upcoming Singer in Telugu (2010).
Sooraj is also the co-founder and lead vocalist of the band, Masala Coffee, which made its debut on Kappa TV’s Music Mojo. The band burst onto the independent music scene with its eclectic mix of songs. They have dished out songs of all genres, ranging from rock to melody to folk.
The band has scored music for an upcoming Tamil flick, Uriyadi, which will be released soon.
Masala Coffee has made its debut in the Malayalam industry composing a peppy promo track for the movie, Hello Namasthe.
