Sonu Nigam, the legend of the modern Indian music industry was born on 30th July 1973. Sonu Nigam is an Indian playback singer, composer, live performer, host, and actor. Nigam has sung in various languages including Hindi, Kannada, English, Bengali, Manipuri, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Tulu, Assamese, Odia, Nepali, Maithili, Malayalam and other various Indian languages. Nigam started in music at a very young age when he sang the song , "Kya Hua Tera Wada" with his father on stage. Nigam finally moved to Mumbai with his father to venture into Bollywood at the age of 18. He got formal training in singing from Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. Sonu Nigam has also contributed significantly to Kannada Music Industry. Nigam has sung over 600 songs Kannada songs. He is known as the Golden singer of Karnataka. Sonu Nigam has many accolades to his name. He has been the recipient of "˜Best male playback singer' from the National Film Awards and has received 2 Filmfare awards and 3 Filmfare awards in South.
