Since her childhood, Roy liked to dance and also learned Bharatanatyam dance. Later, she had to discontinue dancing because of an injury in the lower back.In the first year of her graduation, she received her first salary by teaching arts stream subject to school students.While pursuing her bachelors (in Political Science), she used to teach arts stream subjects to school students, and while pursuing her masters (in International Relations), she used to teach college students.Solanki Roy did her post-graduation of International Relations from Jadavpur University. After her marriage, she went to New Zealand to pursue further studies and pays frequent visits to India to do her shows.When she was in the final year of her masters, a man from a production house came to their college, who announced that they were auditioning for the lead role of their upcoming serial. Solanki thought of giving acting a try and went to the auditions. Later, she received a call from the show makers that she had been selected for the show Ichche Nodee..After earning popularity with the show Ichche Nodee (2015-2017) as Meghla, Solanki appeared in the TV show Saat Bhai Champa (2017) in which, she played the role of Paddabati..She has acted in the popular Bengali web series such as Dhanbad Blues (2018), Sin, and Montu Pilot (2019).Her childhood friend, Shounak (who lives in Germany), introduced her to Shakya. Their friendship grew through Facebook conversations, and they finally got married.When Solanki was asked about whether she had ever tried to steal money, Solanki replied- Yes, I have stolen money from my Dad and I got caught but he did not say anything to me. And I still steal from my mothers bag. Actually, my mother and I exchange bags. So, the money that remains in my mothers bag becomes my money when I take her bag. In fact, my mother knows this..She also likes to play the ukulele during her leisure time.
