Biography
Singing Drums is the brainchild of Muthu Kumar, who plays multiple percussions. He is based out of the capital city of Karnataka, Bangalore. From the sound of raindrops to the sound of road traffic, from prayer bells to the bird singing – Singing Drums says that this whole life is based on rhythms and sounds. The group does exciting and dynamic rhythm jamming, with complicated rhythm patterns that are made ease to comprehend. *Muthu Kumar – The Tabla Player* Muthu has received training under veterans like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Late Ustad Allah Rakha, and Pandit Yogesh Samsi, He is a freelance tabla player who has accompanied several musicians for different genres of music. He has been playing the tabla for the last 18 years. *Muthu Kumar – Percussionist* With huge collection of instruments of percussion, Muthu has developed a unique sound, comprising cajon, darbuka, bongo drums, tablas, and kanjeera, along with some miscellaneous percussions.
