Simran Kaur Mundi is a Mumbai-born model and actor, whose roots are a Jat Sikh family from Mundian Jattian in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. She won the title of Miss India Universe in 2008 and rose to fame as a model. She has worked with famous fashion designers, in India and abroad. Simran also got chances to feature on some TVCs and on Sukhshinder Shinda’s music video ‘La la la la’. She once appeared on Shah Rukh Khan’s TV show Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, and also debuted opposite Sunny Gill in the Hindi film Jo Hum Chahein, released on 16 December, 2011. In Punjabi cinema, Simran made her debut in Gippy Grewal and Jazzy B-starrer Best of Luck, released on 26 July, 2013, and followed by the romantic-comedy ‘Mundeyan Ton Bachke Rahin’. She also debuted in the Telugu movie Potugadu, starring opposite the famous Telugu star Manoj Manchu. Simran also acted in Ekta Kapoor’s Kuku Mathur ki Jhand Ho Gayi, and Bejoy Nambiar, which released in 2014. In 2015, Simran was seen in a lead role in the movie Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu, opposite the famous comedian Kapil Sharma.
