Shweta Pandit is a professional singer based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. The successful Bollywood playback/recording singer, composer, songwriter, actress, and performing artist has also recorded songs for various Telugu and Tamil film songs. At the age of four, she worked with Ilayaraja, an Indian composer, for the award-winning film, Anjali, which was re-recorded in Hindi. Shweta dubbed for the lead role in the movie in Hindi. She had her breakthrough with Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Film's Mohabbatein (2000) with five songs at the age of 12. She was chosen to sing in the film after she auditioned for the concluding selection among almost 500 singers. Her debut record album, Main Zindagi Hoon, was released when she was only 16 years old with EMI Virgin Records, India, thus becoming the youngest Indian-Pop star. She released three music videos from this album, featuring herself. Her other albums include Aplam Chaplam. She sang and featured for various television commercials. In 2012, she sang her first Tamil song for the movie Vettai for composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, ‘Billa II’ and ‘Aadhibhagavan’ getting her the finest reviews for her renditions. In 2011, Shweta collaborated with famous Punjabi singer and actor, Harbhajan Mann, for the song, Sun Mere Chann Mahiya, for the album, Heer Ranjha. Her first reality television show as a playback singer in 2008 – Mission Ustaad – on Channel 9X, was produced by the United Nations and judged by AR Rahman and Javed Akhtar. The show was one of the biggest television series sponsored by the United Nations and had accomplished singers from Bollywood performing together for various causes for the United Nations. Shweta is currently the host and presenter of Asia's Singing Superstar with Pakistani actor, Ahsan Khan, a singing talent show, telecasted in Pakistan, Dubai, and several Asian countries, and judged by Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan and Shankar Mahadevan on GEO TV and ZEE TV. Shweta Pandit Productions has also released the debut album of her sister, Shraddha Pandit's Teri Heer in 2008, with Sony Music, India. She featured in the Coca-Cola commercial (TVC) featuring cricketer, Gautam Gambhir, and directed by the acclaimed Dibakar Banerjee. She acted in David, directed by Bejoy Nambiar. She has also worked with Anil Kapoor in 24 (Indian TV series), directed by Abhiney Deo on Colors channel. In 2015, she played the influential role as Madhu, with actor Sara Loren in Barkhaa.
