Shovon Mukherjee is a professional guitarist based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. He has taken informal music lessons from the virtuoso guitar player Amyt Datta, famed fusion bass player Mainak Nag Chowdhury, and renowned classical guitarist Biplaw Singh. He learnt double bass and cello from Abraham Mazumdar (conductor) and Anubroto Ghatak (concertmaster) of the L'Atelier de Musique Chamber Orchestra. He is also well-versed in Afro-Cuban/Brazilian music. Shovon has performed both nationwide and abroad with acclaimed musicians from genres like jazz, rock and fusion ensembles. He played at the 2011 Java Jazz Fest with the Latin-jazz outfit, Los Amigos, alongside some of the greatest names in jazz music, such as George Benson, Roy Hargrove, Carlos Santana, George Duke, Dennis Chambers, Joey de Francesco, New York Voices, etc. Shovon has also worked for renowned music directors for advertising, film, and television industries.
