Shefali Alvares is a professional singer based in Mumbai, India. She is a very talented artist whose works are influenced by Sting, Karnivool, Porcupine Tree, Stevie Wonder, Louis Banks, Joe Alvares, Karl Peters, Michael Stanton, Tyris Washington and Lady Gaga. She enjoys exploring genres such as Bollywood, Sufi, electronica, retro, opera, hip-hop, psychedelic, blues, jazz, rock, classical and other categories. Festivals and global venues have seen her energetic performances on stage. Special performances such as her performance for the Royalty of Nepal, the presidential entourage of President Bill Clinton, the prestigious awards function for the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce in which she had been accompanied by luminary jazz artists from the United States and other such functions have made her famous and respected world-wide. Some of her most popular songs from Bollywood’s movies are Yeh Dil Hai Nakhreywalla from Dil toh Baccha hai ji, Always Kabhi Kabhi, Salem, Mujhse Fraandship Karoge, Desi Boys, Tum mera hero with Mika, Ek main aur ek tu, Gulaabi Aankhen, Ratta Maar from Student of the Year and I’ll do the talking tonight from Agent Vinod. The advertisements that were created were Liril, Lakme, Dove, Titan Fast Track, Streaks Hair and Sri Lanka tourism. She has worked with directors like Pritam, Vishal Shekhar, Amit Trivedi, Mikey Cleary and has been nominated for Stardust Awards.
