My Compelling Story

Shashaa Tirupati is an Indo-Canadian professional singer, songwriter and voice-over artist based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. She was associated along with AR Rahman during the third season of MTV Coke Studio. She sang three songs in the Mani Ratnam-AR Rahman film, OK Kanmani. She has also sung for several ad movies and Bollywood movies, and has opened for and shared the stage with artists like Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Richa Sharma, Sukhwinder Singh, and Ghulam Ali. She debuted as a playback singer in Priyadarshan's movie 'Bumm Bumm Bole', a remake of the Iranian film 'Children of Heaven', with the song 'Rang De' (with co-singers Clinton Cerejo and Kirti Sagathia), and then lent her voice in movies like 'Turning 30', 'Yeh Stupid Pyar', 'Be Careful', and 'Jo Hum Chahein'. Shashaa was also a member of the band 'Jashan' on the reality TV show 'Idea Rocks India', Colors TV. She has sung for remixes that was released through Saregama HMV (Pehli Mulaaqat), Times Music (DJ Megha Radioactive), Strumm Music (Bollywood Unwind Volume 1), and her original composition on United White Flag (Mera Woh Pyar). Sasha has, till date, lent her voice for over 1000 advertisements for brands including Johnson and Johnson, Mango Slice, Slice Mangola, Scooty, Dabur, Garnier, Lakme, Maggi, Yahoo, Pond's, Pears, and Anchor to name a few. She has also sung for UNICEF's Children's Right to Education programme. She has also composed songs for the Bengali album 'Sojoni Amar Bondhu Re', along with music partner Reeg, which was released by Venus Music. She has also toured with AR Rahman for his concerts – Rahmanishq, Infinite Love, NEWS7 Global Concert, and the AI Audio Launch.
