Shakthisree Gopalan is a professional singer based out of the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. She is trained in Indian Carnatic style of music. Her taste in music ranges from funk, jazz, trip hop, funk, and easy listening to psychedelic, post-punk, and progressive rock. Shakthi loves to explore various styles of music. Her inspirations include AR Rahman, MS Subbalaxmi, Norah Jones, Nina Simone, U2, Coldplay, and John Mayer. She has been writing music since 2007. She has been a recording artist as a Playback Vocalist for the Indian film music industry since July 2008 and has had the incredible opportunity to record the theme song for the Chennai Sangamam Festival 2009 – Kaveri, composed by notable musician and composer, Paul Jacob.
