Saxophone Sisters India-fame MS Subbalaxmi, also known as Saxophone Subbalaxmi, is quite different from other musicians you meet. Music is in her blood as her father is a mridangam player and her grandfather was a musician in the erstwhile Royal Court of Mysore. Besides, there are a dozen percussionists in her family. She started her vocal training in music at the age of six. When she turned 15, she started learning saxophone from padmashree Dr Kadri Gopalnath. Her repertoire in music ranges from Carnatic, fusion, and Bollywood to Western pop music. She has done over 5000 shows in India and 17 countries.
