R. Sarathkumar is an Indian actor and politician, who is known for working predominantly in the Tamil film industry. He established his own political party in 2007 named ‘All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi’ (AISMK) in Tamil Nadu. He has worked in many films including ‘Pulan Visaranai’ (1990), ‘Surieyan’ (1992), ‘Nattamai’ (1994), ‘Suryavamsam’ (1997), and ‘Natpukkaga’ (1998).He was born into a Tamil family in New Delhi, India. In the 1991 Tamil film ‘Vaidehi Kalyanam,’ he played the role of Rajamanickam alongside actress Rekha. He played a cameo role as himself in the 1994 Tamil film ‘Killadi Mappillai.’ In 1996, he worked in the Tamil film ‘Mahaprabhu,’ which is considered one of his best Tamil films.
