Ronu Majumdar is a professional flautist based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. He is known to be one of India's ace flute-players. Ranendranath Majumdar, popularly known as Ronu Majumdar, is both as a thinking musician and scintillating performer. He began flute-playing under the tutelage of his father, Dr Bhanu Majumdar, and then Pt Lakshman Prasad Jaipurwale and Pt Vijay Raghav Rao. He has been fortunate enough to receive guidance from Pt Ravi Shankar. Ronu's playing style hails from the Maihar gharana of music that has given shape to many music maestros like Pt Ravi Shankar and Ustaad Ali Akbar Khan.
