Rituparna is a household name in the Tollywood industry. Having worked for over two decades, her glamour quotient and elegance is undoubtedly surreal. She has worked in diverse roles and been bold in her approach. This is a must for every artist to do justice with the demands of the script. It was sometime in the early 90’s when the Bengali cinema was undergoing a transition. There was a lack of a magical face that could create an aura, like the ones in Bollywood. At that very time, Rituparna became aware of her ambitions and took a step into the cinema. She graduated from Mount Carmel College and was chosen as Mount Carmel, an accolade awarded only once in five years. She also won the principal’s medal. Looking at this great track record, it seems she had always been natural at being her best. She got a chance to debut on silver screen with Prabhat Roy’s Shwet Pathorer Thala. This was followed by an award winning performance in Dahan. Since then she has worked with several noted directors and producers in the industry. Her work caught the attention of Bollywood producers too. She has worked with David Dhawan, Madhur Bhandarkar and Priyadarshan.
