Richard Dcosta is a professional dancer based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. Born in a pious Catholic family in Calcutta, Richard was shown doors to the show business industry from a very tender age of 12. Coming from an artistic family, Richard had already a lot of responsibilities to prove in the music and performing arts field. His mom is a trained classical dancer and singer, his sister is also trained in classical vocals and Bharatanatyam and Kathak dance; his dad was a saxophonist and a budding choreographer at his young age; his grandmother is a trained vocalist and a Latin choir singer; his elder uncle James is a guitarist and his younger uncle Eugene is a virtuous violinist who played the violin during the visit of Pope John Paul II in India. He started writing his own songs when he was just 14 years old and started choreographing for LIVE shows from the age of 15. He passed out from an Irish Brother's school, St Mary's Orphanage and Day School, Calcutta. He later pursued Media Studies in Mumbai from a college in the Western Suburb. Though he didn't have much interest in academic studies, he loved to read about dance articles and read research work online staying awake till 4 am. So, he started studying dance and performing arts online theoretically. He also studied the nitty gritty and crux of business and management going to the libraries every now and then and spending most of his leisure time.
