Rhitom Sarkar is a professional guitarist based out of Kolkata, West Bengal. Born to musician parents, he initiated his training in Indian classical music but later picked up the guitar and got hooked by its musical appeal due to its ability to glide. He learned guitar under maestro Pt Debashish Bhattacharya for ten years. He also learned incorporating classical music in Spanish (western) guitar under the guidance of music composer-director Sri Madhu Mukherjee. The highly innovative mind of Rhitom restlessly searched ways and means of incorporating the finer nuances of Indian music with his guitar. Awards and Honor: Stood first in the Maya Mitra Competition Won the state level of All India Youth Festival Awarded Senior Scholarship under the Govt of India Ministry of Culture in 2005 Awarded the State Scholarship of Rajya Sangeet Academy Awarded with ’A’ Grade from AIR, Kolkata Awarded the prestigious Trisaptika Kala Ratna 2010 Award Empanelled Artist of ‘EZCC’ and ‘ICCR’
