RDB's journey of music began when they began singing at the gurdwara. They used to assist their father while he would perform in front of the community at their local gurdwara, playing harmonium and tabla. This gave them a great understanding of their musical creativity and they mixed this with their passion for technology and began to experiment with sounds. In 2003, they won the title of ‘Best Club DJ Bhangra’ at the UK Asian Music Awards. The group is also featured on the Brampton Walk of Fame. RDB has collaborated with acts like Snoop Dogg and T-Pain. In April 2011, Kuldeep got diagnosed with a tumour in his brain, and he had to undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy. He died on 22 May 2012 in Houston, Texas. After the demise of Kuldeep aka Kuly 2012 and the statement from Manj which confirmed his exit from the band in order to pursue his solo career, rumours were out about the closure of the band. However, Surj, the only member of RDB who exists, has now decided to carry on RDB’s legacy, and to lead the team from the front.
