Biography

Music is something that has always come naturally to Raushan Verma. At an early age of three, he developed an interest in singing. Coming from a family of music lovers, he was exposed to a variety of different genres, right from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Queen and Michael Jackson, to Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali. At the age of six, he started playing the keyboard, which went on for a year before he eventually gave up, since his academics had a higher priority for him. He did his schooling from The Bishop’s School, Pune, where he made friends with similar interests. By the time he reached seventh grade, he met a guitarist named Jansher Banaji, who was his classmate. They formed a trio which consisted of two guitarists and himself as the vocalist. By this time, he started considering music as a serious prospect. They would sing and play covers by Bee Gees, Queen, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, The Eagles and Aerosmith. The group soon disbanded in early 2007. Raushan was 16 and this is when he started playing guitar. His first self-composition was at the age of 16 when he gave songwriting his first try. Junior College was when he started considering music seriously as a career. By the age of 17, along with his friend Jansher Banaji (Guitar/Keyboard/Piano), he started performing professionally as a singer at local venues. By the end of the year, he came up with quite a few songs from which three made it to his first studio album. This was just the beginning of his passion for creating music. Raushan is now successfully performing at various venues of his hometown Pune as well as in other parts of the country.
