Rashmi Jain is a professional mehendi artist based out of Kolkata, West Bengal. She has been practising this art form since she was 12-years old. During her school days, she used to apply mehendi on her friends and relatives on different events. ?Although she has a reasonably good portfolio of mehendi designs, she likes to spontaneously create designs based on the occasion. In some years, people who knew her recognised her talent and encouraged her to participate in a mehendi competition, organised by the Marwari Yuva Manch (Imphal, India Branch). She won the first prize and, with all the publicity, came demands for teaching others the art of mehendi designing.  Rashmi Jain understands her responsibilities towards her family, which is the reason that she is conducting mehendi classes and workshops at home. According to her, she does not need a big or decorated parlour or office to attract her students; her work speaks for itself.
