Ranen Sinha is a professional violinist based out of the capital city of West Bengal, Kolkata. He is one of the best and rare violinists who can play both, Hindustani classical music and Carnatic music. He received training from Shyam Binod Ghosh. He learnt Carnatic music from K K Athikesavan, a noted South Indian singer, and violinist. Ranen received extensive lessons in Hindustani classical music from late Pandit Deepak Chowdhury, who was the foremost disciple of sitar maestro, Late Pt Ravi Sankar. Ranen is now under the guidance of Pt Kamal Mallick who was the disciple of sarod maestro, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. He has also been fortunate to receive lessons from the famous violinist, Padma Bhushan Dr N Rajam. For the last 20 years, Ranen has been rendering several solo recitals nationwide.
