Purple Fusion is a LIVE folk fusion band from Nagaland, India that experiments in Naga traditional and other folk music. The band was founded on 28 August 2012, with an aim to promote the culture of Nagaland. It deals in indie ethnic music with Western genres like blues, jazz, funk, reggae, and rock. Purple Fusion has got featured in some of India’s leading music channels such as VH1 and MTV. They have, in collaboration, performed with some big names in the international and national scene – like with John W Schlitt – Petra (Grammy-award winner), Rabbi Shergill, Rahul Ram – Indian Ocean, etc. Purple Fusion has played in Indian cities like Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata, and the north-eastern states of India, too. They have also performed at IIFI (International Film Festival of India). PF has given its music in the documentary film – Songs of the Blue Hills. The documentary got selected for screening in Switzerland, Warsaw, Gotheburg – Sweden, USA – New York, Italy, etc. Purple Fusion is the winner of the ‘best folk fusion album’ at the Akademia Awards Los Angeles, California in 2014. They were the second runner-up at the Sennheiser's Top Emerging Band of India 2015, which was judged by Shankar Eshaan Loy and Salim Suliman.
