Punya Srinivas is a professional instrumentalist based out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is a professional Veena player who is very versatile and has performed with the best musicians worldwide. Punya has been playing the instrument for more than two decades. She has performed at more than 500 shows across the globe and has collaborated with more than 300 renowned musicians. She has recorded for maestro Ilayaraja’s movie compositions and his LIVE concerts on almost a daily basis. Till now, she has completed more than 5000 recordings with him. Some of the esteemed musicians she has collaborated with include Zakir Hussain, Matthew Garrison, Mandolin U Srinivas, jazz legend John MacLaughlin, Late Pandit Ravi Shankar, Ranjit Barot, Leslie Lewis, and Hariharan. She has been awarded the Yuva Puraskar from Sangeet Natak Academy in 2011. Her debut album is titled 'Veena in Vienna'. Veena in Vienna was very well appraised and got excellent comments.
