It all started at the age of ten when she participated in a school singing contest; her principal was highly impressed with her singing abilities and suggested her parents to provide Priya with proper music training. With all the support and a lot of struggle, Priya was trained in classical vocals. After that, she also learnt to play instruments like harmonium and tabla. She started participating in school and college music events. Her father's dream to be a playback singer helped her to keep going and continue this journey.
