My Compelling Story

Pratha is a LIVE band based out of Kolkata, West Bengal. Pratha, in Bengali, means traditions or customs. The members try to maintain their native tune of the culture with a touch of modernism. The members from different genres ranging from ambient, cinematic sound, and technical death metal, to Bollywood and folk try make music in their native language. Pratha was formed five years back, but due to some issues created by the previous members, the band broke up. After a long gap, Matilal and Jit met and decided to reform the band, realising the same music and brotherhood are still left between them. That very moment a call was made to Soutrik, a close friend of Matilal, to look after the guitar section. And now, Pratha is trying to take another chance. Some of the artists they like are Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Alterbridge, Avial, Motherjane, The Raghu Dixit Project, Soulmate, Kailasa, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Mohinar Ghoraguli, and Raeth.
