Prachir is a LIVE band based out of the capital of West Bengal, Kolkata. The word ‘Prachir’ means ‘The Wall’. Their tagline ‘Music that unites’ and the follower’s group ‘Prachir United’ displays the core bonding that the band members share with each other and with their audiences as well. The band has been together for more than nine years, performing, producing and maintaining the freshness of LIVE music. The band cites that the honest devotion of the members towards music and their warrior-like mind setup serves as an inspiration behind Prachir’s survival and existence. The band sings primarily in Bengali and has played gigs all across the country, mostly consisting of college festivals. The most defining moment for the band was when they were invited to perform at GL Bajaj Institute of Technology, Noida. It was the first time a Bengali band was asked to play at a national college. Prachir has also performed unplugged while giving interviews on various Radio stations in Kolkata. The band released two music videos from their debut album in 2009. 'Bharotbarsho' became the most popular song after Launch Pad and the LIVE footage was also used as a promo for the same. This song also got featured in Sangeet Bangla and Tara Music. 'Tsunami' became the most heart-touching rock ballad in the same year. Sangeet Bangla featured the video as an exclusive during the month of September 2009. In 2010, the band again came up with a new music video for ‘Porichoy’. The song spoke against substance-abuse and was supported by the Anti-Drugs NGO, Los Angeles. This video received a huge round of applause from all over on websites and reached more than 29,000 views on YouTube. The video was also featured as an 'exclusive' on Tara Music and a regular telecast at Sangeet Bangla, Dhoom music, TV South Asia, Incoda TV and many others From 2007 to 2014, Prachir performed more than 2000 college festivals, rock concerts and corporate events all over the country and banged the audiences everywhere. Giving a refreshing, energetic and a rock-solid performance has always been the primary focus of the band. Getting an overwhelming and consistently positive response from fans and listeners, the band is now working on their second album which will be released soon. Performances and Achievements: 26th September 2008 – Prachir released their debut album, produced by Asha Audio, West Bengal. The album spent eight weeks on Planet M and Music world and was among the top regional albums.
