Biography

Pooja was born in Mumbai to Manjunath and Latha Hegde. Her parents are from Mangalore, and therefore, her mother tongue is Tulu. She also speaks English, Hindi, and Marathi fluently. Pooja competed for Miss India 2009, but she was eliminated with Miss India Talent 2009 honor. Following this, Pooja competed again in 2010 and went on to win the second runner-up in the Miss Universe India. Her acting career kick-started from a Tamil superhero movie Mugamoodi in 2012. Her following movie release was Oka Laila Kosam in 2014 for which she received significant praise. Pooja then went on to make waves of success, and she was selected for her first Bollywood film , Mohenjo Daro in 2014 opposite Hrithik Roshan. She is also signed up for the upcoming release , Housefull 4.
