Percussion Mantra is a LIVE instrumentalist trio based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. This group consists of Saptak Sharma and Mahavir on percussions and Sumit Chamoli as the DJ.
Saptak started learning music at the tender age of four. He is a promising artist and a renowned percussionist in the musical circuit.
He has been giving stage performances for more than 15 years and been an artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan as well.
He continuously plays for Spic Macay and has also been awarded the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy Award. Saptak has also given stage performance for various international music conferences and is also known for his collaboration with French flutist, Samuel Bricault.
Mahavir started learning the tabla at the very age of five under the guidance of Pt Ravindra Soni of the famous Farukkhabad Gharana.
He has also undergone training in other forms of percussion music from the famous percussion duo of Delhi, Ravi-Rakesh. He was fortunate to record numerous albums with his gurus.
He has performed for AIR, Doordarshan, Lok Sabha and all over the country and in various European and South East Asian countries for myriad functions as well as private concerts.
In addition to performing in solo concerts, Mahavir has also performed in innumerable jugalbandis and collaborations with a bevy of other instrumentalists and vocalists alike.
Sumit Chamoli was born in Delhi and started his career as a DJ and music producer in 2008. He is now a well-known DJ in the party circuit of Delhi/NCR.
He has a sound knowledge of house music and is thorough with almost all the genres of music.
Over time, he has played some of the vibrant Bollywood, house, retro, Punjabi and hip-hop numbers all across India.
