Biography

Pranab Roy is a Kolkata based drummer, with over eight years of experience. A part of many different bands, he is a superb drummer and his sounds on the drums is a bliss to hear. He is an exciting young drummer with a passion for a great music. A solid groove player, Parnab places a strong emphasis on playing a song. He specializes in genres like alternative rock, progressive, grunge, nu-age, and pop. With a regular LIVE performance history, Pranab has played inside and outside the country, and for media shows like Doordarshan Tara Music, Phono LIVE concert, ETV Bangladesh, etc. He has also been featured on MTV Indies for the official video of ‘Ouch’ LIVE. He is trained from renowned drummer, Gaurab Chatterjee, from 2007, and is presently studying at the Calcutta School of Music. He is a member of bands like Ouch, Suspended Fifth, Parashpathar, Prachir, The Colors, Taseer, and Super Junkies. Some of his influences are Jojo Mayer, Thomas Lang, Matt Sorum, Mike Portnoy, Mike Mangini, Gavin Harrison, Aaron spear, Chris Adler, and Vinnie Paul.
